Lisbon Airport (LIS)
Welcome to Lisbon! Arrive at any time, and a transfer will be ready to take you to your hotel. There are no scheduled activities today, so feel free to explore the city at your own pace. Hotel check-in is available from 2 PM onward. If you arrive earlier, you can leave your luggage at reception and check in later.

DAY 2
Lisbon – Sintra – Lisbon
08h30: Meet in the hotel lobby.

Take the 30km drive to the permanently fresh and ever-romantic Sintra. Start at the National Palace before heading to the picturesque Pena Palace. Once you have finished taking in the views, head back to town to taste the Portuguese delicacy queijada, at the world-famous Piriquita pastry shop.

Head back to Lisbon to visit the 16th-century Jeronimos Monastery, the Discoveries Monument along the banks of the Tagus River, and the impressive Belem Tower. Make a visit to Pastéis de Belem, world-famous purveyors of pasteis de nata, who have managed to hold on to their secret recipe for nearly 200 years. Enjoy a demonstration and tasting of these treasured treats before heading back to your hotel for the evening.

Physical activities: Pena Palace has stairs and sloped streets without elevator access. If you have mobility concerns or prefer to avoid crowds, we can replace it with Queluz Palace for a more accessible experience. This option is for private tours only and requires a 25-day advance request.
In case of a weather alert (strong winds, thunderstorms, or extreme heat), we will visit Queluz Palace instead, as access to Pena Palace will be closed.

DAY 3
Lisbon – Nazare – Fatima – Braga
09h00 am: Meet in the lobby.

Your day on Portugal’s Silver Coast begins in Nazaré, a picturesque fishing village named after a statue of the Virgin Mary brought from Nazareth in the 4th century. Ride the funicular up to Sítio for panoramic views over the town and visit the 17th-century Nossa Senhora da Nazaré Church, known for its Baroque towers and tiled biblical scenes.

Nazaré is also famous for its tradition of women wearing seven petticoats, once used to keep warm while waiting on the beach for returning fishermen. In 2011, surfer Garrett McNamara put Nazaré on the world map by riding record-breaking waves, and today it is a global winter destination for big-wave surfers.

After lunch, continue to Fátima, one of the world’s most important pilgrimage sites. Visit the Chapel of Apparitions, where in 1917 the Virgin Mary is said to have appeared to three shepherd children, revealing the famous Three Secrets of Fátima. The Sanctuary remains a powerful place of faith and reflection for pilgrims from around the world.

Porto – Full Day
09h00 am: Meet in the lobby.

We begin our day with a car-free walking tour through the historic center of Porto, using pedestrian streets. Beginning with the impressive collection of over 20,000 blue tiles in São Bento Train Station. Proceeding to the 12th-century Porto Cathedral, where you’ll discover the city’s unique history while taking in sweeping views of the Douro River. Next, we will venture down the alleys of the medieval district to the commercial street of “Rua das Flores,” to take in buskers and craftspeople selling their wares. Being the most lively area in town, this is where we will have lunch at a restaurant favored by locals.

In the afternoon, you will be treated to a guided visit to a traditional wine cellar, or cave, to taste the rich, sophisticated, and world-renowned fortified wine – Port.

Physical activities: Enjoy a delightful 3-hour walking tour in Porto on pedestrian streets. We’ll explore stores and a church, with some steps and short climbs. We can adjust the pace, though the route remains fixed. This tour is not suitable for individuals with mobility impairments, including those using canes, crutches, wheelchairs, or scooters. Douro Valley – Full-Day
08h30 am: Meet in the lobby.

You’ll start the day by visiting a wine producer, where you will learn more about the vibrance and complexities of port wine. From here, you will be driven through the Douro Valley with its breathtaking landscapes. Lunch will be provided in a traditional restaurant. You will finish the tour with a boat trip in the Douro River to contemplate the sweeping views of the valley and vines beyond (1 hour).

DAY 6
Braga – Half Day
09h00 am: Meet in the lobby.

After breakfast, we have a short lecture about the Bom Jesus do Monte Shrine prior to our visit. Upon arrival, our ascent will be made on the funicular. The first on the Iberian Peninsula! This lift uses a system of water counterbalancing to pull the funicular up and down the steep incline. The success of this tram inspired Lisbon to install its own version, which we still see in the city today. Our descent will be made on foot. Next, we will explore the cathedral and downtown area. The second half of the day will be free time for you to explore on your own or take a rest in our hotel. Duration: 1/2 day.

Physical activities: The walking tour in Braga will be car-free, utilizing pedestrian streets and lasting 3 hours. The pilgrimage church has steps. You can optionally use the funicular to go down, although this will not cover all the stairs.

Oporto Airport (OPO) or Braga Train Station
Our journey together comes to an end today. Check-out is by 11 am, and your included transfer will take you to either Oporto Airport (OPO) or Braga Train Station — just let us know which one matches your travel plans, at no extra cost.
Flying out of Lisbon instead of Porto? Many airlines only offer flights into one city and out of another, so this is common. Simply choose the Braga Train Station transfer, and you’ll take a high-speed train directly to Lisbon.
